You've seen it in the movies - the little mechanical fly that could be controlled to fly around and spy on people. Now it's real! But it's not a mechanical fly; it's a living beetle. The flower beetle can be rigged with electrodes and a radio receiver to allow scientists to control the flight of the beetle remotely. "Pulses sent to the bug's muscles or optic lobes can command it to take off, turn left or right, or hover," and because this insect is so big (up to four inches), it is able to carry a camera which can be used for surveillance. The native flight-control ability was admired so much that researchers abandoned developing "robot beetles".

I just created a new Gallery page for user's graphics. I've got a few avatars and signatures up already, but those are just there for example. They will be replaced when I receive new images from YOU! If you want to submit an avatar, its size must be 100x100. Signatures must be 380x100. Any other graphic, also including avatar and signature sets, may be any size. If you would like to submit your own images to the Gallery, head on over to the Contact page and send me links to your graphics. Or you can just email me at contact@royalera.com. Hope to get some user submissions soon. ;]

Seems like Chris Brown treats the charges he is facing as a joke.
Chris Brown encouraged young fans to vote for him for the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on the same day that he appeared in front of a California Superior Court facing two felony counts for his alleged attack on girlfriend Rihanna.
On his Myspace page on Thursday, March 5, Brown reached out to fans with a blog posting that urged them to vote for him for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song for “Kiss Kiss.”
“Hey fans,” the post reads. “Vote for Chris on the Kids Choice Awards 2009 link provided below … Thank you for your support.”
To many critics, Brown’s blog post was an indication that the star may not fully understand the severity of the charges he is facing, or that he simply doesn’t care.

Would you like to have your own royalera.com email address (you@royalera.com)? Now you can, but only if you're fast enough. ;] You can head on over to the Contact page for full details. But hurry. Once the 5 email addresses are given away, it's too late.
If you don't plan on using the email address, please don't request one. Leave them open for people who actually want one. And I'll be able to tell things like the last time you logged in, and if you go a long time without using it, I'll delete the account and give it to someone else. So if you don't want to lose it, at least log in every now and then to keep me from deleting it.

Welcome to the new blog site for Royal Era. It's still under construction, but it is open nonetheless. No other site I've created was worth keeping up with because there wasn't anything to update. I plan to keep this interesting by at least writing one article a day, but I may need some help from some other members with the content. I'm just looking for people who can spell and have decent grammar - I may do some editing as I see necessary - to just write about any recent topic of interest. Whether it be about a band that broke up or a new gadget that came out, if you can make people come back for me, you're hired. If you're interested, email me at contact@royalera.com and let me know.
Also, I'd like to know your opinion on the idea of a blog site. If you don't mind, please leave a comment up in the top-right corner of this post.
